Buckeye Book Fair Literacy Programs

The Buckeye Book Fair promotes literacy by bringing Ohio authors together with the reading public for an annual book festival and by bringing the Buckeye Book Fair experience to Ohio schools, libraries, and reading groups through special programs.

Literacy Awards

From fostering and encouraging a love of reading to enhancing and updating book collections in classrooms and libraries, the Buckeye Book Fair has donated more than 10,000 books since its inception.



Applications are open to: Ohio reading programs, Ohio public libraries, and Ohio elementary and secondary schools both public and private. Proposals for Buckeye Book Fair literacy awards are to have a special project using books by or about Ohioans and to demonstrate financial need.

In evaluating applications to determine the recipients, the Buckeye Book Fair Literacy Awards Committee will consider the impact of the project, the financial need of the applicant, and evidence of careful planning in preparing the project.

The deadline for applications is August 1, 2020. Winners will be notified by mail or email no later than September 1st.

Literacy Award Winners

BBF Literacy Award Winners will be notified by email and mail no later than September 1st.

Within 60 days after completing your project, please send us a short report with feedback on any of the following points: How did the audience benefit? What were their takeaways? How did the program benefit your organization? How did the program benefit the author? Photos are especially welcome!
