Buckeye Book Fair Literacy Grants

Buckeye Authors' Book Fair Committee Inc. was created as a nonprofit entity in 1987 in Wooster, Ohio, with a mission to promote professional Ohio writers, illustrators, and photographers and the book industry that has invested in them and their works. The Buckeye Book Fair event is a showcase for Ohio's influence in literature and is a fundraiser for the organization and our literacy outreach.

The Buckeye Book Fair promotes literacy by bringing Ohio authors together with the reading public for an annual book sale and by awarding free books to Ohio schools, libraries, and literacy programs.

From fostering and encouraging a love of reading to enhancing and updating book collections in classrooms and libraries, the Buckeye Book Fair has awarded more than $200,000 worth of books since its inception.

Proposals for Buckeye Book Fair grants are to show new and creative ways to improve literacy or encourage reading within a specific group and to demonstrate financial need.
